Teaching and Research
I have experience and am interested in teaching both creative writing courses and analytical thought and argumentation in the forms of first-year writing, literature, and film studies at the college level. My research and writing areas include chronic illness and disability studies, the medical humanities, personal narratives, and writing pedagogy.

2024 - Present
Texas Tech University
I am currently pursuing a doctorate of English and Creative Writing with an expected dissertation completion date of 2029. I am also a Graduate Part-Time Instructor of First-Year Writing, a Managing Editor of Iron Horse Literary Review, and a mentor and committee member for the Department of First-Year Writing. I was awarded an Outstanding First-Year Writing Instructor Award and am a J.T. and Margaret Talkington Graduate Fellowship recipient.
2019 - 2021
Eastern Washington University
I earned my MFA in creative writing from Eastern Washington University, where I also taught as the instructor of record for undergraduate English composition and creative writing courses and served as Web Editor for Willow Springs Magazine. My essay "The Stranger," later published in The Santa Clara Review, was selected to be workshopped by visiting writer Alex Marzano-Lesnevich.
2015 - 2019
Trinity University
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from Trinity University, where I served as a tutor at the Undergraduate Writing Center and an editor for High Noon Magazine, The Contemporary, and The 1966.
